Bishop Coerver Decree – Holy Day, December 9
The U.S. Bishops recently received a Vatican opinion transferring the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception from December 8 (the Second Sunday of Advent 2024) to December 9. To impede any uncertainty and confusion, Bishop Coerver dispenses all Catholics of and, or in the Diocese of Lubbock on December 9, from the recently imposed obligation to attend Mass on the transferred Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. See Bishop Coerver’s full decree at www.catholiclubbock.org.
