Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, sometimes referred to as Eucharistic Ministers, serve by assisting with the distribution of the Blessed Sacrament at Mass. Confirmed adults may be trained and commissioned for this ministry.
Commissioned Eucharistic Ministers may elect to participate in additional formation to serve as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion for the Homebound. These ministers bring communion to parishioners who reside in nursing homes, assisted living facilities or in their own homes and are unable to travel to church.
