The Liturgy Commission focuses on all aspects of worship for Christ the King Cathedral. Commission members train the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors, Altar Servers, Ushers and Masters of Ceremony. Members of the commission are responsible for assigning lectors, altar servers, ushers, masters of ceremony and music ministry for every Mass celebrated at Christ the King Cathedral. Additionally, commission members prepare the Liturgical Environment for every liturgical season by changing out altar cloths, banners and flowers, and prepare the altar linens including the purificators. The four areas of concern for environment are: the Sanctuary -- the worship area, a climate of Hospitality, Liturgical Traditions and Seasonal Images.
The commission meets on the second Monday of each month - except for June and July - at 7 p.m. in the Monsignor Comiskey Room of the Parish Family Center. For more information, please contact
