The Class of 2020 is selling Easter lilies until Monday, 3/20. This year’s lilies will once again be provided by Ivey Gardens and are $15 each. We expect the lilies to be available for pickup during Holy Week. The funds raised will go towards the class’s senior trip fund. The 2017 South Plains Regional Science & Engineering Fair (SPRSEF) was held on Friday Feb. 24 and included over 650 projects presented by hundreds of students from across the Pan-handle and South Plains area. Overall, the 68 CTKC School students who participated in the regional fair were awarded 58 first place ribbons and 9 second place ribbons. CTK students won 35 of the special awards. 27 students won trophies for outstanding projects in their grade levels. 23 sixth through twelfth grade students from CTKC School will represent the South Plains at the Texas State Science and Engineering Fair in San Antonio later this month. For the fifth year in a row, a CTK student was one of the top awardees at the SPRSEF. Senior David Mendoza will represent the South Plains at the International Science and Engineering Fair for the second time. This year’s International Fair is in Los Angeles in May. Sophomore Ben Wanjura and junior Jasmine Gonzalez won silver and bronze ISEF medals, respectively. In addition to student awards, four CTK teachers won sweepstakes awards recognizing those teachers with the most student awards at each grade level. At the Private Schools Interscholastic Academic (PSIA) District Meet on Feb. 25, CTKC School students received 1st-6th place ribbons in 42 different academic and art competitions. Of these, 21 placed 1st or 2nd qualifying them for the State PSIA Meet to be held in May at TCU in Ft. Worth. The CTK Athletic Booster Club will be sponsoring their annual Shrimp Boil on NEXT Sunday, March 26, from 5-7pm in the CTK Café. Tickets for this all-you-care-to-eat shrimp, sausage & vegetable feast can be purchased from any CTK School athlete or in the school office during school hours. Join us to celebrate the Annual Friends of the Foundation Gala on Friday, April 21 at The Grand at Reagor-Dykes Downtown. This event is held annually to raise funds for Catholic education in support of student scholarships at CTKC School.
